Commassie’s death, a great loss – Emir

The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk, has described the death of former Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Ibrahim Commassie as a great loss to the nation.

Farouk made this known in Daura on Friday, while reacting to the tragic news of the passage of the former police boss.

The monarch also described the deceased as a loyal traditional title holder adding: “Commassie was a holder of the prestigious Garkuwan Hausa title of the Daura Emirate.’’

Farouk said Nigeria would miss his wise counseling and wisdom especially on issues bordering on security and unity.

“Our great state and the legendary Daurama Palace will miss his wise counseling and wisdom especially on issues bordering on security and unity of the nation,’’ he said.

Farouk urged members of his immediate family to consider what happened as an inevitable act of God, while he prayed for God’s mercy on his soul.
