Bribe videos: Court stops Kano assembly from probing Ganduje

A Kano high court has ordered the Kano State House of Assembly to stop its investigation Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s string of videos allegedly showing the governor collecting bribe from a contractor.

The order was granted after a request by Mr Muhammad Zubair on behalf of Lawyers for Sustainable Democratization of Nigeria.

The presiding judge of high court 3, Justice A.T. Badamasi, ordered the assembly’s committee investigating the matter to maintain status quo ante pending the determination of the motion on notice.

“The respondents should be served before the closed (sic) of work today.

“Accelerated hearing is hereby ordered and the respondents are given 4 days to respond to this application after service.

“Parties should maintain status quo ante pending the determination of the motion on notice.”

The case has been adjourned to November 12 for hearing.
