The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kano State, Abba Kabir-Yusuf, has appointed Sanusi Bature as his spokesperson.
A statement signed by the governorship candidate and made available to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday said Mr Bature would lead his media and communications team for the 2019 campaign.
He said Mr Bature is a famous Kano-based broadcaster and also a seasoned development communication expert who had worked with various International Not-for-profit organisations.
Among the places he worked include: Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; the British Department for International Development, DFID, and the United States Agency for International Development, USAID.
According to the statement, Mr Bature has 14 years of working experience in both media and the development sectors.
Until his new appointment, Mr Bature was a Director of Stakeholder Engagement for the Rockefeller Foundation’s YieldWise Project, an initiative that supports the reduction of food loss and increasing the livelihood of smallholder farmers in three African countries.
A graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Maiduguri, Sabature as he is popularly known, also holds MSc in Social Works and Community Development from Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology, Ogbomosho, Oyo State and another Master’s degree in Public Relations from Bayero University, Kano.
