Popular singer, Banky W, declares for House of Reps

Nigeria popular musician Olubankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has joined the league of people who have interest in politics declaring to run for House  of Representatives seat in Eti Osa federal constituency.

The musician is contesting under the platform of Modern  Democratic Party.

He made this announcement in Lagos on Saturday during the party’s convention.

The party was registered by some Nigerian youths who campaign for the #NotTooYoungToRun. 

He also amounted it earlier today on his  Instagram page to his fans,friends and family where he posted a huge campaign poster, tagged  “HOPE’19”.

“They said we don’t have the money to run…, we say we our strength lies in our numbers. They said we don’t have the structure, we say we will attempt to build it. They said what if you lose”? I say what if I win?

“You see, my entire life has been a story of just dreaming dreams praying those dreams, setting goals and working until they come true. I can live with trying and failing but I can’t live without trying. So while we may not have a godfather, we do have God. And we have vision and intellectual capacity and integrity and the right intentions and last but not the least, a whole lot of hope.

“At the end of the day, hope may be all we have but I believe that it is all we need. Thank you and God bless Nigeria,” Banky wrote on his Instagram.

Several dignitaries, professionals, celebrities, fans and citizens attended the declaration. 

They include Pastor Poju Oyemade, Senior Pastor of Covenant Christian Centre; MI Abaga, CEO of Chocolate City; Jumoke Adenowo, Founder of AD Consulting and Awesome Treasures Foundation; Maryam Laushi, National Publicity Secretary of Modern Democratic Party (MDP) and Bukunyi Olateru-Olagbegi, founder and Chairman of the Modern Democratic Party.
