The Federal Government, on Wednesday, has declared Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26, December 2018, as public holidays to mark Christmas and Boxing Day.
It also declaredTuesday January 1, 2019 as another public holiday for New Year.
Minister of interior Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau made the declaration in a statement signed by the ministry’s spokesperson Mohammed Manga.
He urged Christians and Nigerians to use the period in praying earnestly for the betterment and development of Nigeria.
The minister called on Nigerians to strengthen their resolve to maintain peace and unity in the country before, during and after the general elections, in the spirit of the season.
