President Muhammadu Buhari, in an interview with foreign radio station, challenged his wife, Aisha Buhari, to provide evidence of a cabal presence in the presidentail villa.

The president disclosed this in an interview by VOA Hausa Service, monitored in Abuja on Tuesday.

In a promo of the yet-to be broadcast interview, Buhari was asked by the VOA correspondent thus:  “Let me used this opportunity to asked for your reaction on a widely published report about the cabal allegation. You may have heard it yourself. Even, your wife made the allegation recently.”

The president then responded thus: “That is her (Aisha) concern. And this has shown the level of my democratic trait that anyone is free to express his own opinion.

“But expressing an opinion is different from reality; let them show a single thing that the cabal have organised and forced me to execute.”

Aisha Buhari has been one of the vocal critics of the alleged cabal who she said is controlling Buhari’s administration.

The wife of the president had earlier alleged that Buhari’s government has been hijacked by the cabal in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service.

“The President does not know 45 out of 50 of the people he appointed and I don’t know them either, despite being his wife of 27 years.

“Some people are sitting down in their homes folding their arms only for them to be called to come and head an agency or a ministerial position,” she had said.

In his response, Buhari said in Germany while addressing a joint press conference with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel, dismissed Aisha’s claims, saying she “belonged to the kitchen and the other room.”

Just recently, Aisha while addressing women, urged Nigerians to rise up against the cabal that hijacked her husband’s administration.
