Katsina traditional ruler abducted 5 days after Governor Masari says state under siege

Five days after Governor Aminu Masari said Katsina state was under siege by bandits, a ward head of Zandam village in Jibia local government, Babangida Lawal has been kidnapped.
A report by Daily Trust said the traditional ruler was picked alongside a businessman in the village, Murtala Rabe, according to sources.
The abductors stormed the village on Sunday night, and broke into their respective homes and whisked them away.
Some residents who tried to rescue the victims were severely injured by the bandits.
No ransom has so far been placed on them by the abductors.
The spokesperson of Katsina police command,  Gambo Isah, has confirmed the incident.
