The Court of Appeal has issued an order to the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to stop further arraignment of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.
Mr Onnoghen is being tried by the Nigerian government for alleged false asset declaration, an allegation he has denied.
On Thursday, the appeal court granted an order for stay of proceedings of the trial at the tribunal.
A three-member panel of the appeal court granted the interim order pending the ruling on a suit filed by Mr Onnoghen.
The CCT had adjourned Mr Onnoghen’s trial to Monday.
