The national Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole says, his party will from the majority in the National Assembly after the 2019 general election.
Speaking to newsmen at a diner organised by President Muhammadu Buhari for both serving senators and candidates of the APC at Villa, Abuja on Monday, Oshiomhole said, the meeting was called by President Muhammudu Buhari to meet with the party’s Caucus in the Senate and some candidates under the platform of the party.
He noted that it was also an opportunity for the president to interact with Senators as well as aspiring candidate of the party to work together to ensure victory for the party at the poll, expressing optimism that the APC will form the majority at the two chambers of the National Assembly.
“Basically, the meeting was for the president to meet with the caucus of the Senate and the incoming senators by the grace of God.
“The whole idea is for the president to have direct interaction with the senators and the senatorial candidates of the APC so that they will work hard and ensure that on the basis of one-man, one-vote, the outcome of the 2019 elections will be in our favour.
“This is an opportunity for some of the senatorial candidates to meet with the president for the first time,’’ Oshiohmole added.
