Isa Ali Pantami, minister of communication and digital economy has vowed to follow up complain by Nigerians over exorbitant hajj fare.

Pantami was reacting to a complain raised by Olubadan of Lagos with twitter address @IsmailIbnYusuf who asked Pantami to look into the matter after he wrote the breakdown of the expenses each pilgrim is expected to incur.

He wrote “Dear @DrIsaPantami, I tag you in this tweet not because I don’t know your portfolio but because you are a genuine Muslim and a Sheikh. Kindly do everything within the capacity Allah has given you to look into the issue raised in the attached. Jazakumullahu Khairan.”

He gave the breakdown of the hajj fare to the total sum of N965, 000 while the Hajj Commission collects N1,573,219 in the picture below and asked Pantami to help find out why Nigerians are being over charged with more than half million (573,219) naira?

He also asked Pantami to find out “who is going home with the N573,219 over charged,”?

Isa Ali Pantami, PhD, however responded by writing @DrIsaPantami “I will contact the relevant authorities for clarification. Thanks for drawing my attention to it. I will do my best to ensure right thing is done, insha Allah. Thanks and best wishes.”
